Meet the team - Sorrell

Name and job title:

Sorrell Dowling

Development Manager

Brief biography:

Education, background, career highlights and special interests in relation to your career?

I studied Psychology and Identity Studies at University and have worked in a wide variety of settings with children, young people and adults who have experienced various challenges in life. My main interests are around mental health, and I am passionate about seeing people access support at an early stage to prevent crises. My career highlights have to be all the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to meet and work with. All the young people I’ve worked with over the years impact my life, they’re an inspiration and the reason we keep doing what we do.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I’m still trying to figure out what I want to be!

My original plan was to be a midwife, but my studies in psychology changed that direction!

Tell us something interesting about yourself

Last year I decided I needed to do something different – and I started aerial training! Beginning with Aerial Yoga, and now including all sorts of other activities that involved dangling in the air…hoop, trapeze and fabrics! I also volunteer with a local youth circus and love getting to try all sorts of circus activities!
